Box Pick #7- Chili’s Grill and Bar

And for the first time drawing out of the box full of wonder we pick… a chain restaurant! Always an adventure though, this selection did not make us travel too far from home as there is a Chili’s Grill and Bar not far from the house.

A successful dinner at Chili’s

With so many restaurants in town, we typically shy away from the big chains sans for a quick drive-through once in a while or the 99 which has historically been one of my son’s favorite eateries. I wasn’t disappointed when Chili’s was chosen though. I have fond memories of eating at the Chili’s Grill and Bar in Copley Place in Boston. I’m guessing that in a sea of high-end shops, it is now long gone. I would order the sizzling fajitas twenty years ago and had the hankering to do the same on this visit.

A pick out of the box!

It’s Time for Chili’s

“baby” back ribs

There’s a reason why these restaurants exist. They are large, the menu is extensive, and, as demonstrated by my visit, the waitstaff does not bat an eye when a whole container of milk is dropped on the floor. We decided to eat there on New Year’s Eve. Granted, dinner time for us is just around 5 o’clock so there were not too many First Night revelers around.

Someone slept through dinner

Located in the Colony Place shopping plaza in Plymouth, Chili’s Grill and Bar is a stand-alone restaurant. The seating capacity is large with a number of booths. I could tell that this would be a hit with the kids. Our waitress was fantastic and catered well to the boys.

Sizzling fajitas

They ordered the typical fare of chicken fingers while my wife and I both opted for the fajitas—chicken and shrimp for me and chicken and steak for her. The serving was large, and I ended up taking some of mine home. Overall it was a tasty meal. I was able to make my own fajitas stuffed with protein, veggies, and toppings. I enjoyed it very much.

Even survived a milk spill

A Box Pick to Chili’s Grill and Bar

Lotta food at Chili’s Bar and Grill

Thanks to the old box of wonder, my family and I ended up at Chili’s. To be honest, it was not somewhere that was on our radar but after the excellent experience we had, I have to say that it will be somewhere we will return to. It is large and kid-friendly with a menu that is conducive to everyone.
