For the next dip into the box pick of destiny, my younger son picked out, Guilty Bakery! When Guilty Bakery was located in Plymouth, it was a perfect pick for me since it was walkable from my house. Even though it has moved, it still churns out some excellent sweets. Although the pictures here come from the Plymouth location, this original bakery recently closed but Guilty has other outposts in Hanover and Mashpee.
Doughnut Day at Guilty Bakery
I made sure our visit coincided with Sunday since it is Guilty’s doughnut day. This means that only on Sundays this bakery sells its excellent doughnuts. They come in different flavors each week but no matter what, you’ll leave happy. The base of all of their doughnuts is the same, really bad description but, doughy dough. What is doughy dough? It’s chewy, and light with lots of flavor, and comes in styles such as, such as on this Sunday, caramel, pumpkin, and rocky road.
Each doughnut is hearty, these ain’t Dunkin. What I like to do is divide them among the group. During my latest visit to Guilty Bakery, my parents were up. We bought two of each so we could all sample bites of every style. Although my typical flavor of theirs is glazed, the pumpkin was also delish but my absolute favorite was caramel, even though caramel is not typically a flavor I choose.
More Sweet Treats
In addition to doughnut Sundays, Guilty Bakery has pastries and sweets every other day of the week. My kids love the cake pops and they are wonderful. Try their cookies too. During See Plymouth’s open house this past summer, Guilty supplied official “See Plymouth” sugar cookies which were the right balance of sweetness. They also specialize in cakes, which we have ordered for events such as birthdays, and are certainly crowd pleasers.
