SideDoor Cafe

For me, there’s nothing like a great cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich to start the day off right. Norwood, Massachusetts’ SideDoor Cafe is just the place for this. In addition to excellent breakfast sandwiches, SideDoor also offers a full lunch menu and a variety of baked goods to satiate any palate.

SideDoor Cafe is located in the heart of Norwood Center. Norwood has a small but bustling downtown with an unexpectedly urban vibe. It’s at the crossroads where old school meets the 21st century, craft meets utilitarian, where decades-old watering holes and storefronts sit side by side with newly minted businesses.

The name SideDoor stems from the fact that, although the coffee shop is located on Vernon Street, its front door is actually a side entrance to the circa-1912 Odd Fellows Building, a three-story brick structure that occupies much of the block.

Let’s Eat and Drink (coffee)

Once inside, you’ll quickly see that SideDoor is cozy and busy! This spot, which opened in 2024, is already a neighborhood favorite for breakfast and lunch and, of course, their coffee. SideDoor brews Plymouth’s Speedwell Coffee. Enjoy it brewed your favorite way. I ordered an iced latte with maple syrup. Yum!

A latte to go

For my breakfast sandwich, it was a toss-up between the #1 and the #3. I chose what was behind door number 3. In this case, the ingredients are two eggs, pork sausage, cheddar, and green salsa. It totally hit the spot. My wife and oldest son ordered #1, which included pesto, bacon, and arugula, and I think it was even better! The sandwiches are served on a brioche bun.

The next time you’re in the Norwood area, make sure to give SideDoor Cafe a try! You’ll be happy you did. And if you’re ready to take that coffee shop vibe home with you, not only do they sell merchandise, but they also have a Spotify playlist worth checking out.
