With summer here, it’s time to reap nature’s bounty at area farms. We’re checking out five farms and farm stands for our farm tour of southeastern Massachusetts. With stops in Rochester, Lakeville, Plympton, and Wrentham, these farms are perfect in summer and fall.
Cervelli Farm Stand – Rochester

Cider donuts? Yes, please, and I believe these may just be the best I’ve ever had. But we’re here for the veggies, right? They have them too. Cervelli Farm hits on all of that, fresh produce, as well as farm-made goodies. Make sure to visit in the fall when the spirit of Halloween envelopes the farmstand. There are pumpkins galore and creepy creatures lurking around the pumpkin patch. Take a stroll while sipping a warm apple cider. Cervelli Farm Stand is located at 247 Rounseville Road in Rochester.
Elliot Farm – Lakeville

Check out the excellent farm store at Elliot Farm at 202 Main Street in Lakeville. Their own produce, as well as some from other local farms, fills the bins. Goodies line the shelves from area businesses, too. In the fall, it’s loads of pumpkins. The greenhouse and fields are just below the market. In the summer, make sure to pick your own sunflowers!
Sauchuk Farm – Plympton

Plympton’s Sauchuk Farm has a farm stand which is a must-visit for fresh produce and goodies, including kettle corn and apple cider donuts, pumpkins in the fall, and flowers in the spring. In addition to their farm stand, located at 53 Palmer Road, they also operate a fun complex that includes a corn maze, a cow train, and even a beer garden. This is open in the fall but is available for private events at other times of the year. Find Pick Your Own at Sauchuk as well.
Colchester Farm – Plympton

The next stop on our farm tour of southeastern Massachusetts is Colchester Farm, also in Plympton. They operate a farm stand in the warmer months through November. Don’t expect baked goods, though. This sells strictly produce from their farm and nearby farms. It’s a self-service farm stand that accepts cash or Venmo payment options. Colchester Farm is the oldest of the bunch and has been in operation since 1751! The Colchester Farm is located at 90 Brook Street.
Big Apple Farm – Wrentham

With “apple” in the name, one would deduce that apples would be a specialty at Wrentham’s Big Apple. And they would be correct. Much more than apples, though, the store at the Big Apple sells its own baked goods and other treats. More than just apples, you can pick your own fruit, including blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries throughout the season. The Big Apple Farm is located at 207 Arnold Street.
For our farm tour of southeastern Massachusetts, we’ve visited farms and farm stands from Wrentham to Plympton. Whether looking for fresh produce, pick-your-own fruit, baked goods, or seasonal specialties, each farm on this tour is unique.
