Talk about a sweet assignment! Let’s head out to find the best cookies in Plymouth, Massachusetts. From downtown to Redbrook, we’re scouring the town. We’ll visit bakeries, coffee shops, and stores to find the best cookies in Plymouth. For this research, we’re comparing apples to apples here, or at least chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chip cookies.
Plimoth General Store
Housed in a beautiful space on Main Street, it has everything you need for everyone on your list. It serves excellent sandwiches (try the chicken salad) and baked goods. Although much of the merchandise has a local flair, which would make the perfect gift or take-home memory, it’s light years away from the average tourist-shop ware. Today, though, we’re here for the cookies. Their take on the chocolate chip (or chunk) is simply divine. The secret here is the sea salt that balances out the sweetness of the cookie creating a taste bud explosion in every bite. A must-try!
Cranberry Coffee Corner
On the far side of Plymouth, located in Redbrook Village, is the Cranberry Coffee Corner. I’m often here for a coffee, but the baked goods here are always so tempting. So tempting that I usually (actually always) need one. Pick your pleasure: cookies, cakes, and donuts. The cookie here is a classic chocolate chip. It’s big and has the right texture, not too firm, not too soft. Eat at one of the tables inside or take it outside if it’s nice.
Kiskadee Coffee
Heading back downtown, the funky Kiskadee coffee shop would fit into Seattle in the 1990s. Try their raspberry mocha iced coffee or for a rich treat, the frozen peanut butter cup iced mocha. Their interior is welcoming, with a variety of seating which runs the gamut from hightops by the windows to couches. It is the hangout for people from all walks of life; from fishermen to mothers with baby carriages, Kiskadee hits the spot for almost everyone. Kiskadee also has an array of tasty treats to please your sweet tooth, such as cookies and pastries. The cookies here are not just big but thick as well. With chunks of chocolate, these puppies are certainly among the best cookies in Plymouth.
Mayflower Provisions
What Mayflower Provisions lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in taste. The market has a fancy name but is the mini-mart at the Mobil gas station on South Street close to Route 3. They have a great bakery churning out incredible cookies. Oatmeal raisin, M+M, and of course, chocolate chip. Find a single large chocolate cookie individually wrapped for purchase by the counter, or in the bakery, grab a bagful, they’ll be gone fast.
Hearth Artisan Bread
Located in the Camelot Drive industrial park is Hearth Artisan Bread. Try Hearth’s bread, it’s excellent. So many varieties to choose from. Hearth has branched out to pastries, pizza, and in our case, cookies. These cookies are light, buttery, and delicious! Get these by the bagful because these are among the best cookies in Plymouth. And while you’re there, grab a cranberry orange and a sourdough bread.
Keegan Kreations
The Parisian-inspired Keegan Kreations, from pastries to cakes to coffee, does everything well. This time though, we’re in it for the chocolate chip cookies. These easily rank among the best cookies in Plymouth. They are plenty big with loads of chocolate to balance out an excellent cookie. Keegan Kreations is on Court Street in Plymouth with a second location in Kingston.
Bonus!
Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters
This cookie is located just over the Sagamore Bridge in Sandwich on Cape Cod. Think of it as a bonus cookie. Another delicious treat, get a chocolate chip cookie and a latte in this garage-turned-coffee shop.
Wherever you are in town, you are bound to be near one of the best cookies in Plymouth. Whether at the industrial park, walking downtown, or out at Redbrook, a scrumptious cookie is close by.
