The Pinehills is a planned village in the Pine Hills section of Plymouth. (That’s not confusing?) This community feels a world away from seaside Plymouth even though it is only a few miles. This month, we’re heading off on a February family road trip to the Pinehills to walk on the trails, eat breakfast, and drive by animals at a nearby farm.
Walk the Trails!
The Pinehills consists of miles and miles of meandering paved trails through the expansive community. They wind their way alongside golf courses, through the center of the village, and into the woods. My kids enjoy traveling these paths on wheels: tricycles, scooters, or strollers. There are a variety of inclines and plenty to explore to keep coming back to without retracing your steps.
Breakfast at the Blueberry Muffin!
In the center of the Pinehills, in the quaint wood-paneled building near the town green, is the Blueberry Muffin. This breakfast and lunch place is as cute inside as its name suggests. Sit by the roaring fireplace, order your meal to go, or if it is warmer, grab a table outside. Their breakfast sandwiches never disappoint, but lately, I’ve been choosing their avocado toasts. Warm up with a hot chocolate or a specialty coffee drink. One must is a grilled, buttery blueberry muffin, sinful!
Drive by the Chiltonville Horse Farms!
Finally, on your way out of the Pinehills make it a point to visit the horse farms of Chiltonville. Head out of the Pinehills via Old Sandwich Road. Eventually, you’ll pass Whip’s Farm on this road to spot horses and even a bull or two. At the four-way stop, take a left onto Jordan Road to view the horses on the right-hand side of the road.
For this February family road trip to the Pinehills, enjoy exploring the expansive trail system, eating a delicious breakfast at the Blueberry Muffin, and watching horses graze from the car.
