Plymouth’s celebrity chef, Chef Stephen Coe is known for his appearances on Food Network television shows Chopped and for beating Bobby Flay on Beat Bobby Flay. His food trucks include the SWAT Culinary Assault Vehicle and Lobsta Love. I have enjoyed patronizing his food truck at the Mayflower Brewing Company. Recently I was able to seek out his Lobsta Love food truck.
When preparing my article about the best lobster rolls on the South Shore, a friend reached out to me to try Coe’s lobster roll. For that piece, I stuck to brick and mortar restaurants but knew I had to seek out this lobster roll.
The Lobsta Love food truck frequented Plymouth area events this summer including the Wednesday night waterfront concert series, breweries, and other establishments throughout the area. Coe was also recently featured as the cover article in the summer’s edible South Shore and South Coast magazine.
Trying the Lobster Roll
Finally, the time came and I was able to try the lobster roll. Of all the menu choices, I stuck with the lobster roll since it was what I set out to try initially. The lobster roll is like none other I have tried. Instead of basic lobster meat served hot or cold, with or without mayo and possibly lettuce, this lobster roll is altogether different. The lobster roll is served cold and the meat is mixed with a delicious mix of herbs and spices. Each bite of this was absolutely superb. It is truly a different lobster roll experience and one that I enjoyed very much. I certainly will be back at the Lobsta Love food truck when I see it parked at the next event I attend!
