So far the other entries in the “my favorite meal” series have focused on lunch and dinner options. This post is the first for breakfast. I love a great breakfast and one of my absolute favorites is the Water Street Breakfast at Water Street Cafe in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Warning: the Water Street Breakfast is a huge meal, but it’s truly awesome. Well, it’s big, to begin with, but I have so many favorites at this place that I add on to the entree, making it even larger. The Water Street Breakfast comes with eggs, home fries, toast, and a choice of meat. I typically order the eggs over easy. The home fries are excellent. At so many restaurants the home fries are mediocre, but not here.
Cue the stuffed blueberry French toast
Here’s where I go a bit crazy. Instead of the bacon or the sausage, which are both really good, I add corned beef hash. Homemade corned beef hash is a true thing of beauty, and Water Street Cafe’s is really good. Then it gets even more gut-busting. I add a side of blueberry stuffed French toast.
Often I order the blueberry stuffed french toast as my meal but recently realized this can be a side too. It’s pretty rare that I get to go out for breakfast, so I want to make sure my meal is memorable. This way I have the classic eggs and hash but add these French toast beauties to it.
The french toast is breaded in what seems like cornflakes and then stuffed with this blueberry cream cheese mixture. Oh My God!!! It’s ridiculous. The thing is that it still comes with a “side” of four halves of toast, making this a tremendous amount of food.
Every part of this meal is so amazing that it’s hard not to eat the whole thing. When my order arrives at Water Street Cafe, half of the table gets taken up just by my meal!
At the Water Street Cafe, you won’t leave hungry!
The next time you’re in Plymouth and have a hankering for breakfast, try the Water Street Cafe. Go big, go for the Water Street Breakfast, add the hash and a side of the blueberry stuffed French toast. You may not need to eat for the rest of the day….
